Cantera Negra is named after the Tequila Volcano’s black rock that enriches the region’s agave fields. A fantastical brand world was created that paralleled consumer insight and product origin story by reimagining an ever present active version of the region’s volcano. We introduced a brand universe and memorable character unlike anything the tequila category has ever seen.
BEHIND-THE-SCENES
We created a surreal, yet approachable aesthetic inspired by traditional filmmaking techniques. We used a 50-foot matte painting backdrop, stop-motion, and real props all augmented by CG.
